Happenstance

Sometimes, with little or no preparation, an image presents itself that must be caught at that moment or else it will pass. The decisive moment — that is what Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank excelled at conveying. It was not only a matter of catching a split-second time, but each photo was accompanied by a unique and engaging narrative. Sometimes fortuitous, accidental or mysterious, you need eyes wide open, and of course, have your camera or cellphone at the ready.
